Check the network ports on your devices.
  • If you purchased your computer, gaming console, or other network-capable device within the last two to three years, they may already be equipped with Gigabit-ready network ports.
  • In Windows: Click on the start menu, click inside the search box (or click 'Run..' in older versions of Windows), type ncpa.cpl and press enter. Right-click the icon for your network adapter, and left-click 'properties'. In the dialog box that opens, click the 'Configure' button. In this new dialog box, scroll in the main window until you find an entry similar to 'Connection Type' or 'Speed', and select it. Click on the 'Value' drop-down menu. I have 3 PCs in my house that I recently upgraded to Windows 10. After a couple days of usage I noticed that 2 of the 3 had a bad memory leak. Both computers were at 99% memory usage, and since one box has 16GB of RAM and the other has 8GB, I figured there must be a problem.

How

I did some Googling and I found this post on reddit that mentioned this same issue. They recommended upgrading my Killer Network drivers. I realized then that all three of my PCs have integrated Killer NICs (I'm using an ASRock Z87 Fatal1ty board, MSI Z97-M, and an MSI Z97-I). I downloaded and installed the Standard Drivers (since I don't care for the Killer software) and it resolved my issue. These are about a year newer than what comes with Windows 10 as well, FWIW.

Underground

So if you are experiencing the same issue, try grabbing the upgraded Killer Networks drivers from this page: http://www.killernetworking.com/support/driver-downloads.

Ethernet Controller Driver Vista

These are pretty commonly integrated on motherboards, so I thought this might be helpful to post here too.
